Watch out for the "Consumer Report" website. I used it for one month (or at least intended to use it for only one month) and then canceled.

I know it was canceled because I didn't have access to it any longer. Yet I was billed again and again. When I called the situation appeared to be "typical" to the customer service rep, indicating that they either knowingly have an unreliable website or they are pulling a fast one. They quickly refunded the last monthly charge, which also gave me the impression that they are aware of some "problem".

My advice is to watch out for them.

I got an email from them after I canceled saying "Hey we want you back". Got a bill on my visa two days later.

Canceled it again online, then I call for a refund, the rep said her hands we tied because I just canceled it online, no refund.

The company says they protect consumers and then they pull stunts like this.

I had the same experience. I agree: DO NOT SIGN UP. They not only bill you forever, their system 'mysteriously' is unable to let you access your account to try and block payment again.

Was looking for new luggage. After looking at a number of sites, an advertisement from consumerreports.org showed on my screen stating that they review luggage. I plan on spending some big $ on items this year so I spent $30 for a one year web subscription. I get on the site and there is NOTHING about luggage. There was a backpack, but that was it. Within 20 minutes of signing up, I call consumer reports @ the 0663 phone number and am told I will get $27.00 back as my subscription is pro-rated.

Yes, that comes to $3.00 for 20 minutes after subscribing to their misleading ad.

Best part? While on hold, they ask for a donation.

ConsumerReports.com = a wolf in sheep's clothing. Stay away from subscriptions. food for thought: if they are this desperate for money, one must wonder how advertising taints their "objectivity" when reviewing items.

In Jan 2013, I requested consumer reports for one month when I was researching purchasing a car. I thought it would be more convenient than the print magazine.

The monthly bill was $6.95 so I thought that would be a savings over the $30 yearly amount. I did not see anything about automatic renewal. Though I check my american express bill every month we did not notice that they were charging us every month. The total amount paid was $69.50.

I called to complain and they said that they could only refund one month. I asked to talk to a manager and then was put on hold and was told they would refund $41.70 for six months.

Consumer reports mission statement:

TO WORK FOR A FAIR, JUST AND SAFE MARKETPLACE

FOR ALL CONSUMERS AND TO EMPOWER CONSUMERS

TO PROTECT THEMSELVES.

They must have the "auto renewal" in fine print, because I thought I was signing up for ONE month, but instead they kept billing! I just cancelled my subscription, hopefully they won't try and keep billing me.

I to have been billed for a subscription that I have never received. I subscribed for 2 years and then cancelled .

I have since had charges to my credit card every year for the last 4 years.

I have phoned Consumers Report and they have returned my money but they keep on charging my credit card annually. They have a real scam going.

You can have this merchant 'blocked' from making further charges to your credit card by calling your card service.
